Joining Industries’ roots began in 1992, when a young entrepreneur named Michael Francoeur started Energy Beam Labs in Cheshire, CT. With six employees and an electron beam welding machine, he opened his doors for business with a vision of offering an ultra-modern facility where customers could come for solutions to their tough joining problems.
Over the next several years, his company expanded its offerings to include laser welding, and in 1998 changed its name to Joining Technologies. After a move to East Granby, CT, the company continued to grow, adding supply chain management services, laser metal deposition (also called laser cladding), and full-in house machining services.
In 2012, the company launched Newgate Instruments, which designs and manufactures devices for remote energy pipeline monitoring. Joining Technologies Automation was formed in 2016 as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), provided manual and automated laser systems for assembly, laser welding, laser cladding and other manufacturing. In 2017, the company’s successful laser cladding division was launched as its own business – American Cladding Technologies.
Joining Industries was formed in 2017 as the parent company to accelerate the growth of its subsidiary companies.
